Gamecube Games on Wii U?

Gamecube games are coming to Wii U, at least according to a rumor from UK publication Retro Gamer.

Rumors have circulated for months about Gamecube titles on the Wii U Virtual Console, but there hasn't been any official announcement from Nintendo. In September, when NOA President Reggie Fils-Aime was asked about the possibility, he said this:
"That is a great question. And personally I would love for that to happen, but we have nothing to announce right now."
So the Retro Gamer rumor is just that. A rumor. But it's one that makes sense. The Wii Virtual Console supported games from the N64 era. It's likely that the next generation Wii U Virtual Console would support games from the console that succeeded the N64. Also, storage space isn't an issue. The biggest Gamecube games top out around 1.5GB, far less than downloadable Wii U games.

Since there will be no Gamecube controller ports on the Wii U, the controls for Gamecube games will need to be remapped onto the GamePad or Pro Controller.

I certainly hope the rumor is true. I'd like to see some hard-to-find, expensive Gamecube titles like Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, and maybe Phantasy Star Online Episode I&II on the Wii U. I also wouldn't mind Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles; I think it would work very well with the GamePad.

What do you think? Which Gamecube titles would you like to see reappear on Wii U?
